Well, this entry is well past its prime, but here goes anyways.

The last two deer seasons have been quite the learning experience for me.  I seem to have had plenty of instances to find out that what I thought was pretty solid knowledge in fact wasn't.

One of those cardinal rules, or so I thought, is that deer won't move if it gets too cold.  Depending on what old timer I talked with, I was always under the impression that somewhere around 20 degrees, the deer just go to their beds and stay there until it warms up.  At least for Kansas deer this was supposed to be the temp range.

Well, I got a new Trail Cam for Christmas and ran right out to test it out.  I put it near a feeder I had setup near our barn.  About 700 pictures later over the course of one week, I sure learned a lot.  Especially that deer move, and move plenty when its cold.

Here are a couple pics.  You can see the temp, and I have some where the deer are moving all the way down to -4.  So, a good lesson learned on my part.
