Q2 Voting Period Open for Sportsman's 2010 Sportsman Choice Awards

New Berlin, Wisconsin - The second quarter show-voting period is now open for the 2010 Sportsman Choice Awards, Sportsman Channel's viewer-generated awards program. Sportsman's viewers are leading the effort to identify the shows and hosts who will take home top honors at the end of the year. All shows and show hosts airing on the network in 2010 are eligible. The categories are: Best Hunt Show, Best Shoot Show, Best Fish Show, Best Combination (hunting and fishing) Show, and Best Show Host(s). Viewers can place their votes at www.votesportsman.com.

MAY EVENTS LURE KANSAS STATE PARK VISITORS

Fishing tournaments dominate park activities in early season
PRATT — State parks are great places to camp, boat, fish, swim, and just enjoy the outdoors, but if that isn't enough, you'll find a special event you won't want to miss. In May, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has planned a number of special events. Because May is one of the best months for fishing, many of this month's events are fishing tournaments. Other events include Women On Target activities and a trail ride. Each park sets its own dates for these events.
